Discipleship is one of Arborlawn's three areas of focus in this present season in the life of our congregation. Put simply a disciple is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, committed to learning and growing in faith, and discipleship is a way of life by which we grow in faith. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 9, as we launch True Vine Discipleship. This will be more than a worship series. It will be the beginning of our being and becoming the faithful and fruit-bearing disciples of Jesus Christ that our God is calling us to be. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
The Traditional services in the Sanctuary at Arborlawn take place every Sunday at 8:45 and 11 am. The service utilizes the traditional order of worship that God's people have been using for centuries, and features the Arborlawn Chancel Choir, directed by Michael Plantz and accompanied by our organist, Jerry Westenkuehler. Several of Arborlawn's associate pastors help lead the service, with Senior Pastor, Chris Mesa as the regular preacher.
Both the 8:45 and 11 traditional worshipping communities begin each service with a time of welcome and greeting. This reflects our vision at Arborlawn to be disciples of Jesus Christ who connect with people as we prepare to be disciples who meet God in worship every Sunday so that we might be disciples who live missionally in the world each week.
We hope all people feel welcome in this beautiful service of liturgy, traditional hymns, and transformative preaching each week.
