True Vine Discipleship
We at Arborlawn wholeheartedly believe that Jesus Christ, who is our vine, is always present with us, his branches. There is no separating the branches from this vine. However, the choice to grow, flourish, and bear fruit is up to us. We call the process True Vine Discipleship. Just like in the gardens at our homes or in our communities, we encourage our branches to grow on an “arbor.” However, this arbor isn’t made of raw materials; this arbor is the church. It is our hope that each person in this community becomes a fruit-bearing branch on the arbor that is Arborlawn United Methodist Church.
Disciples Bear Fruit
Here at Arborlawn, we want people to pursue becoming a devoted follower of Jesus Christ that is committed to learning and growing in faith. This is no easy task. Discipleship is that way of life by which we grow in our faith. The arbor on which we grow helps us produce and bear five fruits: Multiplication, Connection, Relationship, Loving, and Giving. These five fruits provide a framework for each us to recognize the areas where we need to provide extra attention or the areas where we are bearing fruit. As we grow and learn throughout our lives, we strive to be disciples that bear all five fruits.
Arborlawn Kids introduces children from birth to 5th grade to the beginning elements of discipleship.
Arborlawn Students provides youth 6th through 12th grades a place to grow and learn as young disciples.
Adult Discipleship provides opportunities for adults to continue their growth as fruit-bearing disciples.
